Porto is also known for it’s stunning coastline and delicious cuisine. The surrounding area is also well known for its Vinho Verde vineyards, olive fields and beautiful national parks.

Guimarães & Braga

Guimarães is a city and municipality located in northern Portugal in the district of Braga. Its historic town centre has been listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2001, in recognition for being an "exceptionally well-preserved and authentic example of the evolution of a medieval settlement into a modern town" in Europe.

Besides its museums, monuments, cultural associations, art galleries and popular festivities, it has since September 2005, an important cultural space, the Vila Flor Cultural Center. Guimarães is also home to association football club Vitória SC, who compete in the Primeira Liga.

Douro Valley

The Douro River Valley is one of Portugal's most scenic regions. The winding, terraced landscape produces the country's beloved port wine. Unlike the Rhine, Loire, and many of Europe's great rivers, the Douro was never a strategic military location. So, rather than castles and stony ramparts, visitors encounter farms and sleepy villages.

The Douro Valley is the only place in the world that can legally produce what's called "port wine." Explore the region’s quintas, vineyards producing port wine.

D’Alijo can help provide information and transportation to these locations. Please take some time to consider any day trips you may wish to take in advance so we can better organize groups.
